Orgins, Memories & Parodies

‘Origin’ takes us back to where photography began. It also enables us to understand that images are unstable and inferior compared to the past in terms of accuracy and reliability. Photographs play their role as a medium that connects artists and their desire to materialize their fragmentary visions: photographs justify their purpose.

‘Memory’, one of the basic human traits, is played and analyzed by using evidence like photographs. These kinds of photographs are not always produced for an artistic purpose. Nowadays, the three things artists pay the most attention to are archival storage, local photographs, and visual documents with images. Those artists recognize that images can have a link between personal memories and experience that can be shifted to collective memories that can operate ideological, cultural and economic interpretation.

‘Parody’, dramatized artwork, can rewrite history into a small play by eliminating the mysterious parts of history from a narrative description. In other words, they often hide the fact that they pretend to use objective s. Also, they question the beauty of pictorial structure that hides violence behind typically idyllic scenery.

This exhibition can be regarded as one with a narrative structure, but also interpreted as an experience unto itself. Spectators should be able to elicit a variety of personal interpretations of the artwork depending on curators’ or artists’ s.

When one appreciates these images as an approach of an affective experience, it means spectators will train themselves with an intellectual right of self-management. Through this appreciation, spectators will view the various artworks while recognizing how they interpret the art pieces with their own cultural preferences and prejudice in their own way. Only only do all of the photographs in the exhibition focus on the exploration of beauty, but also they use some cursory and technical aspects that are core factors of photography and provide order to include deeper layers of rumination on nature, society, memory, identity and history.

Sometimes exhibitions can have multiple voices that show the mainstream of art markets and countercultural opinions against the dominance of the West. Along with that, exhibitions enable local dialects that talk about global issues to become visible. From that perspective, imbalance and gaps are reflected by some artwork as a metaphor about the ocean of images that overflow in our contemporary society today.
