〈마그니토고르스크. 스탈린에서 푸틴까지〉 

1930년대 지어진 최초의 모노고로드(Monogorod; 하나의 산업이나 기업에 경제를 의존하는 도시)는 마그네틱 마운틴 남부의 빈터에 형성되었고 명칭 또한 이곳에서 유래되었다. 모노고로드인 마그니토고르스크는 세계에서 가장 오염된 도시 중 하나이다. 도시의 모든 중소기업은 물론 시장부터 하키팀의 운영진까지 모두 생산 공장에 의존한다. 마그니토고르스크의 시간은 멈춘 것 같다. 새로운 경제 위기와 중국 금속 시장과의 경쟁으로 인해 공장들은 불안정한 상황이다. 보이지 않는 위협은 도시에 끊임없이 존재하며 생활의 모든 측면을 관통한다.  

〈Magnitogorsk. From Stalin to putin〉 

It was the fist “monogorod” (a city built around a production plant) built in the 1930s and was formed in the empty land in the southern Urals around the Magnetic Mountain, which is where the city’s name comes from. This is one of the most polluted cities in the world. All small and middle-sized businesses of the city are connected to the production. Even including the appointment of the mayor, all depends on the production’s management, that also responsible for the support of a hockey team as well as a loyalty to the party in power.  It seems that time has stopped in this city. The new economic crisis, or competition from the Chinese metal market can destroy the factory at any point, and the city could descend into an economic and humanitarian catastrophe. This hidden threat is constantly present in the city and this element threads through all the aspects of life here. 

〈SAD. O.K. SUPER!〉

팬데믹에 의한 격리의 시간은 미지의 감정을 갖게 하지는 않았다. 단지 감정의 기복이 잦아졌을 뿐이다. 집 안의 하찮은 물건들이 갑자기 너무나 중요해졌다. 이러한 삶의 변화를 표현할 수 있는 새로운 시각이 필요하다. 나는 미묘한 콘트라스트의 변화를 증가시키는 앱을 사용하여 시각적으로 손상된 이미지를 개선 시킨다. 마찬가지로 팬데믹 기간에 감정 기복의 증대는 많은 사물과 현상을 더욱 선명히 보이게 한다. 

Tim Parchikov 〈SAD. O.K. SUPER!〉

The time of the pandemic and quarantine did not produce new emotions unknown to us. Only the swing of our experiences soared higher and faster, the amplitude increased. Every insignificant object in the apartment suddenly gained incredible importance. There was a need to find new optics able to express these changes. 

I used an app that increases micro-contrasts to assist the visually impaired. Likewise, during the pandemic the contrasts of emotions and mood swings were intensified, and many things and phenomena were seen more clearly.
