<OPEN PATH-관할 아닌 관할> 2013

<OPEN PATH-관할 아닌 관할>은 게임 프로그래밍과 컴퓨터 그래픽스로 구축한 ‘관할’의 무대, 가상의 파놉티콘, 미래의 세계를 선보이는 인터페이스-터미널게임의 형식을 빌려 만들어진 작품으로, 미 대사관 앞의 모습을 재현한다. 많은 수의 경찰들이 걷고 둘러보고 또 걷기를 반복한다.

바다처럼 물이 차오른 이곳은 우리의 기억 속에 있던 풍경을 떠오르게 만들고, 곳곳에 있는 송수신 탑은 이 세계의 에너지 송출을 담당하는 근원이자 매개체이다. 형광색 인물을 자연 속에 배치함으로써 인해 현실 공간이 가지고 있는 맥락에서 벗어나 이 물체가 우리에게 어떻게 인식되는지 알아보고자 한다. 이 세계의 CCTV를 통해 이곳에서 어떤 일들이 일어나는지 확인-감시할 수 있다.

OPEN PATH-Jurisdiction nor jurisdiction, 2013 

OPEN PATH-Jurisdiction nor Jurisdiction features the front view of the American Embassy building, describing it as a stage of "jurisdiction," a virtual panopticon and an interface for the future with the help of the game programming and computer graphics. In this terminal-game-like work, countless policemen walk, look around and walk again. 

The flooded space resembling the sea reminds us of the scenery from our memories. The numerous utility poles scattered around this place serve as a source and medium of energy distribution. By placing the fluorescent-colored character in nature, the artist departs from the context of the real world and focuses on how we perceive the object. We can check and monitor what is going on in this world using surveillance cameras.
